ELIS Innovation Hub’s Role in Advancing the FAME Project

March 6, 2025

The FAME (Federated decentralized trusted dAta Marketplace for Embedded finance) project is making significant strides in developing a secure, energy-efficient, and trustworthy federated data marketplace tailored for Embedded Finance (EmFi). A key contributor to this initiative is the ELIS Innovation Hub (EIH), which plays a pivotal role across multiple work packages, driving innovation and ensuring the project’s objectives are met.

EIH’s Multifaceted Involvement in FAME

EIH’s engagement in the FAME project spans three primary work packages: WP2, WP6, and WP7.

WP2: Foundational Analysis and Architectural Design

In WP2, EIH collaborated closely with project partners to analyze and gather business and regulatory requirements. Their insights were instrumental in shaping the proposed solution architecture, ensuring it aligns with both industry standards and regulatory frameworks. These activities culminated successfully in June, laying a robust foundation for subsequent project phases.

WP6: Leading Techno-Economic Evaluations and Stakeholder Feedback

EIH’s leadership shines in WP6, particularly in Task 6.5, where they spearhead the techno-economic evaluation and gather invaluable feedback from stakeholders. Since October, their efforts have encompassed:

  • Processing data from pilot projects via comprehensive questionnaires.
  • Developing the “innovation pentagon” for each pilot, a unique tool designed to assess and visualize the maturity level based on specific parameters.
  • Ensuring active engagement with pilot teams to secure timely and accurate responses.
  • Completing the initial version of deliverable D.6.3, which encapsulates the techno-economic evaluations and stakeholder insights.

This structured approach not only facilitates a thorough understanding of each pilot’s progress but also identifies areas for improvement, fostering continuous enhancement throughout the project lifecycle.

Structured Analysis of Pilot Activities

EIH employs a meticulous framework to evaluate pilot activities, ensuring comprehensive analysis and knowledge dissemination:

  1. Brief Description of the Pilot: Offering concise summaries to provide context and clarity.
  2. Outcomes:
    • Technical Part: Detailing the development and deployment of each pilot’s technical infrastructure.
    • Business Part: Elaborating on the business models and structures underpinning each pilot.
    • Stakeholders’ Feedback: Collecting and analyzing feedback to gauge satisfaction and identify potential enhancements.
  3. Lessons Learned: Capturing experiences, challenges, and successes to improve future practices and reduce the risk of repeating errors.
  4. Pentagon FAME Evaluation Method: Utilizing this innovative tool to assess and visualize the maturity level of each pilot based on specific parameters. .

This comprehensive methodology ensures that each pilot is rigorously evaluated, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

WP7: Amplifying Dissemination and Communication Efforts

Within WP7, EIH is dedicated to broadening the project’s reach and impact. In January, they leveraged their LinkedIn platform to:

  • Announce their active participation in the FAME project to their professional network.
  • Articulate the overarching objectives of FAME and highlight the benefits it offers to the broader ecosystem.
  • Detail EIH’s specific role within the project, emphasizing their contributions and commitments.
  • Showcase the diverse partnerships and collaborations that are integral to FAME’s success.

Looking ahead, EIH plans to organize a workshop tailored for its stakeholders. This initiative aims to further elevate FAME’s visibility and elucidate the tangible benefits companies can derive from its implementation.
