On July 10th and 11th, the FAME consortium convened in the vibrant city of Bratislava, Slovakia, for its 4th General Assembly meeting. The University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA) graciously hosted this important event on their picturesque campus, providing an ideal setting for productive discussions and collaboration.
GFT Technologies Italia, the project coordinator, led the meeting, which saw the participation of over 30 attendees in person, complemented by additional partners joining online. The two-day assembly provided a comprehensive review of the project’s progress, with work package leaders and task leaders presenting updates on their respective areas.
Key Updates from Work Packages
The meeting kicked off with insights from WP2, focusing on the specifications, architecture, and integration of the FAME Platform. This platform will house the innovative Data Marketplace and Learning Center, pivotal components of the FAME ecosystem.
WP3 highlighted advancements in secure, interoperable, federated data management. The goal here is to develop and integrate solutions for data interoperability and trustworthy data exchange, ensuring secure transactions within the FAME framework.
Next, WP4 delved into decentralized programmable data trading and pricing, outlining strategies for efficient and transparent data asset transactions. WP5 followed with updates on the developed trusted and energy-efficient analytics tools, showcasing progress in AI/ML techniques for embedded finance (EmFi), explainable and trustworthy AI, energy-efficient analytics, edge data management, and federated machine learning (FML) for privacy-friendly and energy-efficient data markets.
Pilot Projects Progress
WP6 provided a platform for the seven pilot projects under FAME to share their progress, each of which leverages one or more of FAME’s data assets and tools in their implementation.
- Pilot 1: FaMLy – Developing a financial recommendation engine for families to enhance user experience and provide personalized consumer interfaces.
- Pilot 2: Embedding Finance Services in a Personalized Citizen Wallet – Introducing new EmFi services in urban contexts by leveraging data from smart services.
- Pilot 3: Personalized Collaborative Intelligence for Enhancing EmFi Services – Utilizing FAME’s analytical tools to detect fraudulent payments and other criminal activities.
- Pilot 4: The EU Funds Application Process Made Easy – Streamlining the financial support process for companies receiving EU funds through automated methodologies.
- Pilot 5: ESG Scorecard Ranking & Sustainable Portfolio Optimization – Creating an online tool for ESG investment portfolio sustainability scoring.
- Pilot 6: Embedding Climatic Predictions in Property Insurance Products – Developing climate-conscious insurance products.
- Pilot 7: Assessing the Quality and Monetary Value of Data Assets – Evaluating and pricing data assets within the FAME market based on quality assessments.
Standardization, Exploitation, and Community Engagement
WP7 shared crucial updates on standardization activities within FAME and its sister projects, progress on FAME’s exploitation plan, and content development for the Learning Center. Additionally, they discussed strategies for community engagement, ensuring the wider dissemination and adoption of FAME’s innovations.

Special thanks were extended to EUBA for their exceptional hospitality. As the meeting concluded, participants expressed optimism for the next 18 months, anticipating significant achievements and advancements.
