NOVO’s Citizen Wallet simplifies urban financial services for both municipalities and citizens. By integrating various payment methods and offering personalized tools, the platform enhances urban mobility and streamlines local government transactions. Serving over 80 municipalities, it also promotes greener living through incentive programs. This pilot will demonstrate embedded financial (EmFi) services in an urban context, expanding the current application’s functionalities.
Detailed description and Objectives
Citizen Wallet transforms urban living by unifying fragmented payment methods into a single, user-friendly platform. Originally launched as myAthensPass in collaboration with the City of Athens, it enables citizens to manage parking payments seamlessly.
Leveraging data from smart city services, NOVO personalizes financial tools—offering features like parking discounts and bundled service payments tailored to individual needs. The platform also promotes greener urban environments through targeted mobility incentives.
With over 80 municipalities already benefiting from the platform, NOVO’s strategic growth focuses on B2B partnerships and scaling adoption through successful pilot programs.
This pilot aims to demonstrate the capabilities of FAME technology in a real urban context. By integrating data from smart services, it will extend the platform’s current functionalities with additional embedded financial (EmFi) services—such as paying for other available mobility services- enhancing convenience, personalization, and sustainability for both municipalities and citizens.
FAME Applications
By creating a comprehensive EmFi profile for citizens, FAME enables the development of new, data-driven citizen services that go beyond traditional applications. Leveraging FAME’s data monetization capabilities, existing assets provided by the pilot partners are not only utilized but also turned into valuable resources within the FAME marketplace.
Utilizing existing parking data, a comprehensive EmFi profile for citizens is created. This robust profile serves as the foundation for generating a wide array of personalized, citizen-centred offers and recommendations such as “Park & Ride” options. These recommendations will offer citizens incentives such as discounts on bulk parking ticket purchases, reduced fares for using public transportation, or suggestions for utilizing eco-friendly public transportation options, thus promoting sustainable urban mobility.
Enhance NOVO’s citizen wallet to encompass a wider array of services, including transportation services and fine payments. This will empower citizens to conveniently fund their citizen wallet using their credit/debit cards and subsequently utilize these credits for various services. Moreover, within their wallet, citizens have the option to purchase discounted e-tickets for public transportation by leveraging the “Park & Ride” loyalty scheme offered by UC1.
